Richard Wrangham, Ph.D.    Harvard University is the base for an international network of field primatologists, the Great Ape Action Group. The goal of this group is to develop world-wide political initiatives that will stop the current slide of great apes towards extinction in the wild in this century.

Steve Wise, J.D.   www.cefr.org Center for the Expansion of Fundamental Rights is working to obtain basic legal rights for great apes through eduation of the judiciary and public, scholarship to support legal arguments and the undertaking of a precedent-setting series of lawsuits.

Roger Fouts, Ph.D. Deborah Fouts, M.S.   Friends of Washoe Friends of Washoe is dedicated to the welfare of chimpanzees, especially the five chimpanzees in its care. Friends of Washoe has led the way in efforts to improve captive conditions, save wild chimpanzees from extinction, and educate the general public about chimpanzees.
